‘A Christmas Bauble’ Self-Publishing Journey by Linda Baker

WOW, what a wonderful experience! I had always dreamt of writing a book and to actually have the finished product in my hand is an amazing feeling.

The Inspiration of My Story

For the last twenty years I have regularly taken my grandchildren to the cinema and have been amazed at the stories, animation and special effects that go into a film.

I’d always had an idea of an adventure unfolding in an old attic with a Christmas bauble, but then I had to come up with a storyline. So having six grandsons I was very aware of how mobile phones and gaming was a huge part of their lives. I felt there was a lot being lost for this generation of children. Conversations all being had through texting and hours spent gaming. Which is why I based my storyline on that subject and what better time of year to create a magical story than Christmas.

Why I Self-Published

Once I had completed my story, I remember looking through it all typed up and asked myself: where do I go from here?

I was given some very helpful advice from an author friend of my sisters, who suggested self-publishing.

When I approached SPP, Douglas was very helpful in guiding me through the process that would follow in getting my book published.

Once I had decided to proceed, Frances contacted me and guided me through each stage, I really appreciated her help. I have really enjoyed the whole experience and thank the whole team at SPP.

I would definitely use this company again.
